Founded in 1809 but halted by The War of 1812, it wasn’t until November 1, 1824 that Miami University first opened its doors to a total of 20 enrolled students. By 1839 that number had climbed to 250, a student population rivaled only by Harvard, Yale, and Dartmouth. However, following several decades of unfavorable administrative changes and one mass expulsion, Miami was forced to close its doors in 1873, thus drawing an end to “Old Miami.”
By 1885, the school was back up and running and “New Miami” was born. With newly repaired buildings and an innovative redesign of the school’s curriculum, Miami began a tradition of excellence and pride that continues today. Keep the pride alive with this insanely soft tee.
