How it all began:

First, just so everyone is on the same page, this company was started by two brothers. One is a talented designer (right brain) and the other is a businessman (left brain). Right brain went to art school and spent years working in Hollywood, while left brain majored in business, has an MBA from Duke, and spent years in public accounting.

Back in 1995 our parents moved us from the east coast to the midwest, right brain was about to enter his junior year in high school and left brain was about to begin high school. At that age, moving was the worst thing that could ever have been forced upon us.

When we arrived in the midwest, we had no friends. Sounds awful right? It wasn’t so bad. We became tight, like brothers should be. We had a much nicer house and lived in a nice neighborhood. We spent most of our time though, hangin out in the garage, listening to music, talking about what we wanted to do in the future. Garage Cotton was born.

We didn't exactly come up with the idea then, and definitely didn't come up with the name then, but we decided at that point that we would someday combine our skills and do something fun that we cared about. It's actually pretty funny that such a simple idea took so long to find us. It really is the perfect business for us and we hope you enjoy the brand as much as we enjoy creating it.

Garage Cotton was formed as a way for us to provide our customers with premium, super soft tees and hoodies, that have wicked designs, and fit well. Why tees and hoodies? We love tees and hoodies and that is what Garage Cotton is all about. We are literally making what we love, comfortable clothes! Soon enough we hope to add hats, beanies, and sweat pants because we love that stuff too.
